Oregon Spotted OwlNorthern Spotted Owls

The Oregon Zoo is supporting an Alliance partner, Mountain View Conservation and Breeding Centre (British Columbia), in a new captive breeding program for Northern Spotted Owls (Strix occidentalis caurina), which are critically endangered in British Columbia.

The Oregon Zoo is donating a healthy pair of Northern Spotted Owls to the new breeding facility. High Desert Museum (Bend, Oregon) is also providing two young owls to the Mountain View breeding program. Woodland Park Zoo will be housing some owls for Mountain View’s breeding program.
