Public Policy

Introduction

The Alliance’s public policy goal is to build our reputation and credibility as a conservation organization and as a player in the public policy arena.

We will build the Alliance’s national reputation for conservation and collaboration and demonstrate Alliance members’ collective conservation impact in the Pacific Northwest. We will also build our capacity to undertake future policy work.

The Alliance’s public policy goal overlaps with the work of the Association of Zoos & Aquarium’s Government Affairs Committee.

This committee’s mission is to:

• Protect AZA’s position on regulatory and legistlative matters on behalf of its members
  
  
• Serve as an advocate for AZA members by assisting and influencing U.S. agencies as well as Capitol Hill in the development of effective governmental policies relation to zoo and aquarium’s industries
