Certify Your Yard!
The NW Zoo & Aquarium Alliance has joined forces with National Wildlife Federation (and, in Washington state, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife) to offer partner certification for certifying your backyard wildlife habitat. You fill out one application and are certified by more than one organization! In addition to incentives from National Wildlife Federation and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, there are many benefits to certifying your habitat with the NW Zoo & Aquarium Alliance and our partners.
What Are the Benefits of Certification?
- Celebrate your success: You’ve created habitat for wildlife!
- Join a network of like-minded people across the Pacific Northwest.
- Connect to your community, including your local zoo or aquarium.
- Announce your achievement to your friends and neighbors with wildlife habitat signs and decals.
- Receive a welcome letter from the Alliance with information on your local zoo or aquarium, a certificate of completion, and a decal for your yard sign.
How Do I Certify My Yard?
- Create backyard habitat.
- Download and print a PDF of the Habitat Certification Application from the National Wildlife Federation's website.
- Fill out the application and mail it along with a $20 payment the National Wildlife Federation (mailing address is on the form).
- Soon after, you will receive certification materials from the NW Zoo & Aquarium Alliance, National Wildlife Federation AND (for Washington state residents) Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife!
